SCHOLARSHIPS

Furthering our commitment to education, Georgia CCIM proudly offers scholarships for the CCIM designation program. See below for more information about available opportunities. All Georgia CCIM scholarship applications are due by October 31 each year. 

Please note that scholarships awarded by Georgia CCIM will be paid upon completion of a CCIM core curriculum course. Documentation of completion (receipt and course certificate) will be required before payment. 

Les Callahan Scholarship

This scholarship honors Mr. Leslie G. Callahan, III, CCIM as a long-standing member of the Georgia CCIM Chapter and for his dedication and service to CCIM professionals around the globe. Les has served the CCIM organization for over 37 years, including serving as the 2008 President of the Georgia CCIM Chapter. He has also served the CCIM Institute as a member of various committees, including service as Chairman and Presidential Liaison for the Member Services Committee. Currently, Les is serving on the Executive Leadership team as the Treasurer of the CCIM Institute and Chairman of the Finance Committee. Les is the President of First Colony Financial Corporation, a real estate leasing, property management, and development firm founded in 1982.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to current members in good standing of the Georgia CCIM Chapter and the CCIM Institute and shall be used toward any CCIM core curriculum course.

Kevin K. McBride Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship honors Kevin K. McBride of Cumming, Georgia who served as Georgia CCIM Chapter’s finance manager from 2008 until 2015. Kevin, a native of New York, earned a BA from Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York, and an MBA from Kennesaw State University in Georgia. In addition to his duties for Georgia, CCIM Kevin was the controller for First Colony Financial Corporation for nearly fifteen years and the part-time controller of the Lionheart School, a school for autistic children co-founded by his wife Victoria in 2000. Mr. McBride passed away in 2015 from a rare form of leukemia and is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to current members in good standing of the Georgia CCIM Chapter and the CCIM Institute and shall be used toward any CCIM core curriculum course.

Edward A. Walsh Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship honors Edward A. Walsh, CCIM of Macon, Georgia who served as president of the Georgia CCIM Chapter in 1997. Ed was a graduate of The University of Georgia and earned his MBA from Georgia College and State University. In 1994 Mr. Walsh co-founded The Summit Group, a full-service commercial real estate firm serving Macon and middle Georgia. Mr. Walsh passed away in 2015 at 55 from a brain tumor and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to current members in good standing of the Georgia CCIM Chapter and the CCIM Institute and shall be used toward any CCIM core curriculum course.

Robert (“Bob”) M. White Scholarship

This scholarship honors Bob White, CCIM as a founding member and for his dedication, commitment, outstanding achievement, and service in the commercial real estate industry and for his twenty-five years as service to Georgia CCIM in his role as Candidate Guidance Chairman. Bob is an agent with Adams Commercial Real Estate. Prior to his work in the commercial real estate industry, Bob served as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and spent twenty years as a Geological Engineer and Geophysicist.

This $1,000 scholarship is available to current Georgia State University students.

Georgia CCIM Course Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to active Georgia CCIM members pursuing the CCIM designation who demonstrate commitment and professionalism in the commercial real estate industry.

This scholarship provides full tuition for one designation course.

Georgia Association of Realtors

This scholarship is awarded by the GAR to active real estate licensees or employees of Georgia real estate or trade organizations. The scholarship provides tuition towards any CCIM or Ward Center course.
